Here is my DIY Stropping Block or Leather Hone. I went to The Camp In up in the U.P. of Michigan in September 2010 and One of the sponsors Mike Stewart owner of Bark River Knife and Tool gave a class on Knife Sharpening. Mike used only Leather Strops to sharpen a variety of knives and taught us his techniques. When I got home I made the Stropping Block and ordered Black and Green Stropping Compound from JRE Now for the first time I am able to get my knives sharp enough to shave with very little effort. Many Thanks to the Sponsors Bark River Knives, Wilderness Learning Center, Sharpshooter Sheaths and Knife Forums. I am looking forward to next years Camp In.
